The corporate world as we all know is a cruel one and interested in only the bottom line. Your post makes a great argument for both Universal Health Care and Universal Basic Income for us all. I am in hopes that you will be able to find something that works for you and will find this to be an opportunity rather than a negative in your life.

Stock grants should vest if you lose your job. I'd challenge that if not the case.

Really sorry. If you are approved for permanent disability, I think you get Medicare.
