Low D3 is linked to the Spanish Flu epidemic, due to the recent reliance on canning from the war, which depletes most nutrients in food, poor food distributions and less labor to harvest crops. It also started during Winter.

Low D3 is also believed to be a major contributor to the Black Death, as that outbreak occurred after volcanic eruptions caused massive crop failures for three years and darkened the skies so less sunlight could give people natural D3.

Most flu outbreaks occur during wintertime, when sun is weaker in the northern hemisphere.
