54. I don't understand either because he should've know WH would try to block his book

He could have just obeyed Congress subpoena and fully testified to Congress and still done a book deal. Loyal Trump cultists weren't going to buy his book anyway knowing that he resigned in protest over Trump. By sending book to WH for vetting he surely knew he would face wrath of Trump and attempts to silence him plus likelihood of leaks where Trump would call him a liar making him unpopular with Trump's base.

Lots of speculation now that Trump's hit on Iranian general that came 3 days after WH got his book draft was no coincidence since it pleased Bolton who has publicly praised the hit. Wouldn't put it past Trump to have thought he could get Bolton to back down on his claims in the book if he got tougher on Iran.
