And we have therapeutics like Tamiflu for the seasonal flu - there are none for the new corona virus.

The mortality rate for the Wuhan virus is currently 2,2%

The Spanish flu mortality rate was 2.5% - it took 2 years to kill tens of millions. this virus is just getting started.

The "seasonal flu" mortality rate is <0.14%

Seasonal flu is worldwide and kills tens of thousands each year - even though we have vaccines for it.

Most of the cases and deaths due to the news corona virus are currently in China - not worldwide.

What is happening in China is a preview of what it would do in a major American city.

Currently, 16% of the Chinese coronavirus cases are "severe" requiring hospitalization - if 100 million Americans (1/3 of the population) contracted this virus - they would require 16 million hospital beds.

Do we have 16 million ICU or other hospital beds?

Nope.

Anyone that thinks this is a nothingburger is whistling past the graveyard.
