Who give a shit about what it's original patented purpose was, a patent for a new use can be filed, maybe if you knew that you wouldn't have put up the post that you just did.
Ok, on math. Maybe it was you who posted a chart today. It bent near the Y-intercept, otherwise it was a rapidly rising straight line. Given the cluster-fuck that China made near the start of the virus, who knows what the curve for the first few days actually looks like. Given that the slope for the infection rate has been constant for 3-4 weeks, my bet is that data near the true Y-intercept is straight. See, if you understood graphing data from unfiltered raw data, MAYBE you would understand that.
On edit: about that chart. I noticed that the most recent slope declined a tad. Based upon my work with non human data, a couple of inferences can be drawn from that. But human population data can be screwball because people are involved and they behave in unpredictable ways sometimes. What I would surmise, leaving the human part out, is that China's attempt to isolate people is starting to work, people are not in the streets infecting other people. Another possibility is that people changed their habits, washing hands, being careful about what they touched, staying away from sneeze clouds that they see a person do.
