(60,211 posts)We were on vacation in the States in July 2016, and the first thing she said was, "why is Trump all over the media and not Hillary?"
She was amazed at how the media (not Fox Noise, which we did not watch), was broadcasting Trump speeches in their entirety and 20 second snips of anything Hillary had to say. She told me to watch out and temper my optimism, because the media IS the message, and if the population hears Trump 24/7, that's who too many of them will vote for.
It's no different than cereal advertising. If you see 100 ads for Cheerios and 3 ads for Cocoa Puffs, you will buy Cheerios. That is exactly what happened.
Ignore Trump, and you do to him what the revelation of 1000 scandals can never do. Besides, it's not like he ever has anything new to say anyhow, even on those rare occasions when it IS coherent.
