99. Here is a CB Radio story

In the early 80's as members of a volunteer fire dept. we got CB radios. There were some folks so far in the woods they had no phones and CB was our contact. We had phone and CB and worked as a message relay system. Radios were pretty quite in my neck of the country, but we took a trip to Florida and were happy to have the radio. Lots of friendly chatter mostly, and warnings of "Bears" or "Smokey" going which ever way or stopped where ever. I liked that common helpfulness. Then we pulled into Phenix Ariz. Every channel was nothing but folks screaming obscenities at each other. Totally unreal. We wondered if there was something in the water... I guess with twitter folks have some identity. Is it like facebook where you are supposed to give your real name, or like DU where you can have real or "User" name?
