when challenged on the Scruggs' slander. He basically said, since she was known to be a party girl, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that she traded sex for the tip. Truly mind blowing and he was sitting next to the writer Billy Ray (who had a really bad year last year we also Gemini Man and Terminator: Dark Fate).

Given the movie was about slandering Richard Jewell, the irony is just overwhelming. He screwed both Kathy Bates and Paul Hauser out of possible Awards. All he needed to do was leave those two minutes out of the movie.
