I come to many of your same conclusions and outlooks...though I experience wide swings. I don't know about "hope" so much... though I agree with you that the planet - nature in some form - will outlast us. I've seen it with my own eyes, having lived through several wildland fires, and experienced the rebirth; like you in your garden.

I also believe indigenous peoples will survive the dominant population's demise, as they have for milennia. This gives me some hope.

I, personally, am privileged and I acknowledge that. I have animals/pets, live out in the countryside, husband retiring with government pension. I feel best when I am using that privilege in service.
