In reply to the discussion: An encounter with a Trump supporter [View all]Farmer-Rick
(10,219 posts)13. Yeah it's really weird how so many can be manipulated.
I have been wrong about things through out my life. But I try to base my opinions on reality. When I come across someone who I think is smart and kind and find out they ate racist and willing to unquestionably feed from the trough of propaganda, it amazes me.
Why don't they question their assumptions? Why are they so easily manipulated? It is just weird and I don't understand their blindness.
But one defining characteristic is an emotional reaction. They are not just racist, they are angry racist. They are not just Fox watchers, they hate all other news shows. They don't just vote for Trump, they worship him. It's this underlying emotionalism that seems to be a requirement for them to stay in this state of stupidity.
