(10,122 posts)These kitchen table discussions are where we have a chance to open some eyes. Not all will ever allow themselves to understand it. But you can influence the outlook of a number of people that way.
As many of us do, we can be defensive of our positions in a discussion but shift afterwards as we digest the exchange - maybe even a couple of years later ... where it clicks in.
I was a member of some 'elite' clubs. Racism against non-whites. Anti-non Christian. Anti gay. Elitism - where they're above everyone else. I left all of them. Couldn't stand being around people like that. No regrets. Haven't missed it for a second.
Golf is a great test. Very difficult to master. At least 50% mental. But it can also bring out the asshole in people. I used to play really early to avoid all the assholes.
