1. This district was gerrymandered to favor Republicans after the 2010 census.

I doubt that the voters in the Houston suburbs are going to get excited about the race since all of the Democrats are from Austin and those suburbs are about 50-50 with Republicans. The part of the district that is in Austin is liberal, but the remainder of the district is rural and leans Republican.
