1. they are simply trying to instill the "Yeah it could have happened" thought so IF the voter purges work in Florida and Penn it won't seem THAT unreasonable.
2. they never had much of shot which was pointed out by the candidates who never got anywhere near the race (Daniels, Thune, Rubio, etc.)
