"DDT insecticide spray guns such as this one were used by British medical personnel to spray all prisoners and anyone entering Bergen-Belsen concentration camp to kill lice, which carry typhus. When the Allies liberated various concentration camps they found the camps rife with disease, with former prisoners suffering from typhus, dysentry and tuberculosis."
