(5,946 posts)I often wonder about her, though. She built up a business, but really doesn't know about taxes and stuff, I was saying I was finally old enough to get a particular state tax break, and she had never heard about it. Her accountant told her since it was not business, she did not feel responsible to tell her about it - but the accountant also did her personal taxes. I told her to get another accountant. I think she is someone who relied on a lot of people for help. She is a very hard worker, but uneducated. She is near 70 now and had never heard of or didn't remember the dust bowl. I was trying to explain what my Dad did in the CCC which she also never heard of and wandered off into the dust bowl and trees, and lost her completely. I had to give a short course on the 30's to her.
I can't stress enough how sincere this woman is. I know her and her friends ( I cross volunteered to help out one of her friends), we have lots of friends/aquaintances in common, but she is the only conservative, others are liberal but just don't want to talk politics with her. Hey, it is a blue state. I live in a kind of red city in a blue state.
