3. Does anyone seriously believe that Republicans don't know this?

For multiple reasons, Republicans are clinging to policies that don't work, and they know those policies don't work. The first reason is that bad economies hurt incumbent presidents, and keeping Obama from being reelected is their first priority. Those failed policies also help the rich, at least in the short term. Lower taxes mean higher campaign contributions.

Here's what everyone should take away from this: Republicans don't care what happens to the bulk of the country (meaning middle and lower class PEOPLE). Jobs are not a concern, whether people die for lack of health care is not a concern, economic vitality and our ability to be competitive in the global marketplace are not a concern. All they care about are policies that get them reelected. In summary, they don't care about America.
