In reply to the discussion: I work at a grocery store/food emporium. [View all]tishaLA
(14,781 posts)16. I went grocery shopping last night
And I had no idea it'd be anything except normal because most of the people live close enough that they can walk or easily take a bus to the store.
It was bedlam.
When I got there, I had to go around the parking lot to find a cart. Then I entered the store and it looked like it had been looted, especially the prepared and canned stuff. Fortunately, I make most things from scratch so I could get most of the stuff I wanted (although they were also out of Beyond Meat), but the rice, dried beans, and pasta were also sold out. Thank god I didn't need something like TP because I would have been, pardon the expression, shit out of luck.
