(26,226 posts)if done now. We are in crisis and everyone needs to work together. It would be perceived as divisive and would feed right into the belief that Derms criticize Trump's handling of the crisis solely for political reasons and not for his genuine failings.
Trump's turnaround now is not, of course, a sincere recognition of the seriousness of the situation, or a real desire to help the American people. It is purely for image projection. He sees how the governors are outshining him in their performance and how seriously they are handling it. He does not want to be outdone by them.
The public sees his turnaround as a hopeful sign. He is spouting his usual BS con crap, but calling him on it now in political ads would look like a refusal of his cooperation. It would backfire on us.
Those exposure ads will have to wait until later. He is still playacting and projecting an image, and that will be clear soon enough.
