(38,327 posts)if cancer disappears as a pre-existing condition - ever.
We can 't get health insurance on our own - but I've had to fill out numerous applications at work each time we change carriers. Try being headed for a liver transplant (or possibly multiple liver transplants) at a cost of around a half million each (not to mention ongoing anti-rejection meds) & having a second disease since she was 4 that (at the moment) is associated with a 25% risk of colon cancer, and smaller risks of liver, pancreatic, or bladder cancer - and having another family member in the early stages of Alzheimers. We must have been really, really bad. But - I digress. Some questions are time limited; I don't believe cancer is on any of the applications we've filled out.
But yeah, Santorum's statements are unconscionable - particularly since he has had two children born with pre-existing conditions (trisomy 18 and a urinary tract blockage).
