(5,397 posts)Have you called local restaurants? Theyve likely got lots of meat in their walk-ins and freezers and may be willing to sell it to you. Restaurants are either scrambling to empty out their time-sensitive stock or diversifying their business in order to stay afloat through this mess. At the little one where I work, we have been doing not only tons of carryout/curbside business, and deliveries (which we had never done before), but also retail sales of raw fish fillets, raw crab cakes, shrimp, and other seafood for folks to cook at home. We can order pretty much anything (bacon, chicken, toilet paper! etc) from our distributors and have been ordering all sorts of items for our customers. Pay by phone, we call when it arrives (usually a day or two).
