I know it sounds strange, but I'm always surprised that people have parents and siblings that they just can't pick up the phone and go "Dad, really???" and then not have a parent or sibling that would listen to you about these things.

What he crossposted is so offensive. Really. I don't believe in the whole "family harmony" thing, myself. My family is very straightforward, and unless it was some cousin or aunt that we never see, we would absolutely speak up. Often it's the family member that gets through to these folks, otherwise it goes unchallenged.

Talk to him. Let him know how offensive that was, and ask him some questions about where he got the info that makes him believe that stuff.
