This is a somber time when we should be all-business. And I'm NOT talking "commerce" business. I mean PROFESSIONAL. It's not about how you look or how stylish you can appear when on camera. Or maybe who you're dressing FOR. (?)

I'd dress more somber and not as attention-grabbing in those occasions. You're NOT trying to attract attention to yourself. Everybody's already paying attention to you because of your job title and your expertise. You're already on center stage on TV in a White House coronavirus briefing that most of the world is watching, forcryingoutloud. Let that be your show. Besides, the Showboat-in-Chief is gonna be right there, making sure you can't compete with him, no matter what you do. Even if you waltzed out there naked. (Of course - um - that would be a whole 'nother story.)
