8. The "Historical Republican Party" is merely historical now...

Frankly, I was waiting for “saner minds” in the Repugs to take a stand throughout the first year or more of 45’s term. I figured, as things got crazier and crazier, that we’d see the 25A invoked. After all, it wouldn’t have been like they couldn’t be assured of a reliably-conservative replacement president, except with a degree of mental stability.

But, as time went on, I realized it was an illusion. Every time the Repug congressional leaders set aside their misgivings and rallied behind 45, the more “pot-committed” they became. By now, resisting him on anything would be virtually unimaginable, as it would mean rationalizing their failures to do so before, over and over. They’re all-in, and there’s practically nothing that can change that.
