In reply to the discussion: AOC throws Biden under the bus. [View all]DeterDeter
(76 posts)The Biden camp has denied this, but also has encouraged that the press investigate it. The AP, Salon, NYT, the AP, and NBC news have all released articles this week and its clear from their investigations that (far from ignoring the story because it is inconvenient), that they all HAVE been digging into this quite thoroughly, and have been unable to corroborate due to holes, contradictions, and instances of the accuser or people who she has pointed to as being able to validate the story refusing to follow up with the reporters. It also does not help that the woman had come forward last year and explicitly said that it wasnt sexual, more that she felt that she was treated as a lamp by his staff when she worked for him, and claiming that Biden probably didnt even know why she was fired (nor does it help that she filed a police report last week and did not reference Biden). Believe women means treat the allegations as legitimate and investigating rather than dismissing out of hand, not believe as a default, so I dont appreciate AOC weaponizing it that way. I like AOC, but this aint it. Remember Larry Sinclair?
Furthermore, Im not sure why she is bemoaning the fact that the diverse field whittled down when she also supported an old white guy (dont ask me, I also supported an old white guy). Biden has committed to choosing a woman VP (and I think that its going to be a woman of color), and appointing a woman supreme justice of color, so its not going to be just a replay of an old movie as she suggests.
