8. Trump is worse than irrelevant

His actions have the repeated effect of stopping other people from taking action. For instance, when he bragged that everyone who wants a test can get a test as he did on March 6, people working on getting or developing tests stop what they're doing to see what he's talking about. After all, if there's a testing regimen about to come on line, their time and effort can be better directed elsewhere.

Then, several days or weeks later, when it becomes apparent that Trump was talking out his ass (again), all that time working on testing has been lost. If Trump had just kept his mouth shut, we'd be better off than we are. Testing is just one area, too. He's said and done so many other things that hamper the efforts of the medical professionals and the researchers that it's almost as if he's in league with the virus.

The sooner Trump is ignored and consigned to true irrelevancy, the better of the nation will be.
