28. I'm far more worried about what those determined to keep

Republicans in power are doing. Trump's nomination was a rebellion against them, just like the Tea Party, but just like the TP they turned Trump into their tool a long time ago. Agree they would encourage him to rabble-rouse his base as much as possible. And that Trump's supporters are potentially very dangerous, but history says he'd need help.

If Trump could get his rabble to take to the streets by himself he would have long ago when he was frightened and raging. He, and Fox and other RW subversives, have suggested they should often enough, and all they got was a few murders and attempted murders by crazies. Which for all but Trump would have been the goal.

For those using Trump like a badly trained dancing bear, stoking civil unrest and unease is a standard fascistic tactic setting the stage for even more ruthless means of taking power. Anxious people shift conservative and look for a strong leader to protect them. I've believed for some while that that's why the Republican leadership, determined to find a way to keep power, have refused even the most basic gun control strongly supported by their voters. It would fit their pattern.

If they decided it was time to get the hot-air demographic into the streets to cause disruptions,... I wouldn't put anything past them and their big "the-enemy-of-my-enemy" in Moscow, or past Trump's eager-to-riot populist base with real, very well organized leadership.
