8. I tried to convince myself that Trump would show off his *ss once too much

and most people would eventually get tired of his antics and abandon him. Plus, that, he would be far more constrained than what he has actually been by all the limits on his authority that Republicans put on President Obama (which I was clearly wrong about).

I DO think that Trump *is* wearing people out by his antics and incompetence and that will *probably* be enough to drive him out of office but I'm not taking anything for granted and am perplexed that he has any supporters left at this point. I did NOT anticipate the sheer scale of the horrific public health and economic disaster that is currently unfolding.
