(47,260 posts)That was my take as well. You said it better. I'm tired of hosts that try too hard to be entertainers, instead of journalists or commentators. I don't expect well educated, intelligent journalists to use words like "freaking" or "bull-pucky". Rachel is a "freaking" Rhodes Scholar, I expect her to speak like a journalist, not a late night talk show host. I watch Stephen Colbert or Seth Meyers for that.
Then there is Ari Melber, who I really like, but I don't need the constant pop culture references and rap song lyrics. Its really not as clever as he thinks it is. These people are reporting and commenting on serious news at a historic time, and though there is room for a bit of levity or a laugh now and then, it should not come at the cost of professionalism or credibility.
