Apparently that attitude is returning. It leads me to believe that the objection is not to gun violence per se. It seems to be fine to kill people, maybe even many people, with guns- as long as the "right" people are being killed.
Do not take my comment in any way as support for the protesters. I have long advocated that guns should not be used in any protest. I also consider these people to be boorish pricks. But the fact is they did not actually violate any laws.
No matter how objectionable we find an otherwise legal protest, I do not think it is wise to set the precedent that it is acceptable for police, the National Guard or attack helicopters to open fire on such a protest.
