You did an incredibly brave thing. You may very well have literally saved lives--especially the security guard's, and possibly lives of people inside. If it weren't for you there's a damn good chance we'd be watching something live on CNN, filmed from a helicopter, right now. You're a hero just like all the others whom we can never repay.

The police, the EMTs, the nurses and doctors and respiratory therapists, and now security guards who are getting threatened and even shot for telling dumbasses to do something perfectly simple in the middle of a pandemic. Everyone who deals with the public--especially in high-stupidity areas of the country--must be in fight-or-flight mode every second they're on the job. Or if they aren't, they know that things can go from 0 to 60 in no seconds flat.

My heart breaks for the people who have to deal with members of the public who are instantly willing to resort to violence because wearing a mask to keep other people safe is too much to ask.
