General Discussion
In reply to the discussion: Jimmy Kimmel Proves: Apple’s Magic Is In The Brainwash [View all]Im glad that you found an Os that you like. My OP was only meant to point out the mentality of the die hard fans and definitly not meant to disparage regular Apple users.
Btw have you used Android 4.0 and Above? (Android 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream sandwich ) and Android 4.1 JB (Jelly Beans)). I find the Android 4.0/4.1 User interface to be much cleaner than apple's IOS interface. Apple seems to have stuck with a somewhat tacky(imho) and skeuomorphic design with pretty cheesy buttons and whatnot.
The new Android interfaces on the other hand are pretty clean and give a simple yet sleek/futuristic look(again, this is but my opinion)
Check these Screenshots of IOS6 and Compare them to the ones of Android 4.0/4.1

The Android Screenshots are as follows
Top row left to right
1 "Google Now" cards which are swipe-able
2 Android notification bar(in swiped down position) with actionable widgets
3 the "share" option in the Photo gallery..notice the diverse and dynamic(share lists grows/shrinks based on installed apps)
Bottom row left to right
1 The Button-UI in Android..compared to the bubble design of IOS
2 A page from the settings menu..again clean and sleek UI
3 A Screenshot of the entirely customizable screen.
I definitely think that the New Android UI is much nicer and sleeker than the IOS one.
EDIT:
I for one actually love the fact that one or more Android Flagship phones are released every 3 months or so. This ensures that there is a huge choice for people and their particular preferences.
Want a 5.3 inch device with a smart stylus? there is one
Want a 3.5 inch screen? there is one
Want something in between? there are more options to choose from
Want a phone with a physical keyboard as well as touch screen? sure
Want a rugged MilSpec phone ? sure
The list goes on and its a great thing. Im a firm believer in the uniqueness of human beings and there is no such thing as "one perfect size/design that fits all" . If that is the case then why are we humans wearing so many different clothes/ or drive so many different cars? Different strokes for different folks and Android embraces this.
Furthermore Android caters to people from all walks of life...from one who cannot afford the high prices of iphones to those who can and more. Furthermore the so called "cheap" android phones offer almost all(and in some cases more) features than the newest iPhone. This democratization of technology and information is something I; as a Liberal and a democrat welcome whole heartedly.
