on the other not so much. We are a nation where we will believe conspiracy theories over actual science because understanding science is hard and conspiracies make us feel smart, like we've solved some kind of mystery. It becomes worse when the conspiracy forwards your political world view. Combine this with a world where we give every idiot's uninformed opinion the weight of authority and we're a doomed nation. That's Trump's genius. He tells every moron they're just as smart or smarter than the experts and you don''t have to listen to them.
