(10,885 posts)33. There are two active drive-ins within 20 minutes of where I live.
One of them started with a standard fare movie selection then, for some reason, dropped that and became a XXX for maybe 10 years or so. It shut down for quite a while after that, but someone revived it a few years ago. From what I hear, its doing well.
Looks like the going rate is $27 a carload, with an additional $10 charged for oversized vehicles. Is that pretty standard these days?
A couple of defunct ones have been sold off to developers, and new housing has sprung up. I wonder if the property owners hear moans and groans during the night!
