FB is great for organizing our local elections. IE I'm an elected Democratic Committee Member and we are reaching a lot of the Democratic Voters in our two for the July Primary. They are coming to our page - to get information on Vote by Mail, Town Quarantine info (we have a Democratic Mayor and Majority in our blue town county seat of a red county), info on local election, how to contact their assembly members.
Oh and I belong to a nonsense women's group that when our descendants pull it down from the cloud in 80 years - mine are going to be like . . .
Seriously - my great great aunt spent Covid sharing and laughing at obnoxious memes? 
Good for you. It's not a necessary thing to have 'FB' unless it puts you in contact with people you know. Our family is global so that's how we keep in contact with each other.
