Because they can't cast him as "the kind of guy you'd like to have a beer with" (even though Bush was supposedly a recovering alcoholic), they have to find other ways to make him appealing to the commoners.

He also likes to indulge in peanut butter sandwiches, chocolate milk and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. (Kind of reminds of Reagan's jelly beans and Bush Sr's pork rinds...see how "just folks" he is?)
Asked what he wears to bed he said: 'As little as possible'... (Maybe a little Clintonesque there, e.g., Clinton saying he prefers briefs over boxers)
