(4,128 posts)at Union Grove, WI. When not towing from home in IL, we went to my parent's lakeside place at Lauderdale Lakes,WI. Both are S/SE of Milwaukee. This was for almost 30 years in total, each Spring/Summer/Fall.
Point is: I knew and still know WI and many of its residents and deadly habits vey well.
One always had to avoid driving on pretty much any road in Southeast WI after say 10:30 pm. on a Friday or Saturday night. So many total drunks leaving bars from that time until closing....or dawn! No kids btw. These were farmers, blue collar workers, small office workers. Non-drinking locals also knew this and advised folks of the same. Way too many serious and oft deadly accidents, some even where a fellow would wander out of a local bar on foot to cross a road to get to his car and get hit by another drunk driving his car!
Sad to say bit nothing surprised me to see those packed bars in WI, near Madison it seemed, right after the WI SC's lifted all orders.
