5. I accept your historical perspective

FDR is still my favorite President.

but Barack has difficulties even FDR didn't have. The economy, no doubt, was worse off in 1933.

but Obama took on problems that even FDR would have had difficulty dealing with all at once.

FDR got us out of the depression and defeated the German Fascists and the Imperial Japanese. In the end, his 13 years were trans-formative.

Obama is not at the FDR level yet, and may never get there, but the dimensions of the problems he inherited should not be lost on anyone.
