My mom had 7 siblings and 3 of them, in addition to her, died of Alzheimers. I take heart in that I tend to lean more towards Dad's side of the family but who knows.... I just know if it is in my future, I hope to be dead before it comes to fruition. I would never want to put anyone through what my brother and I endured, taking care of Mom.
