Corona virus still on the rampage? [View all]

It has been reported that Brazil had 15,000 cases in the last 24 hours. In the last week, they have had more cases than China in the last 4 months. Although still relatively mild, June is the coolest month of the year in Brazil. That is their "winter".

Although it seems to have subsided here, it is not gone. Some may think that once it hit the USA, then that was the end of its journey? We would be the last to be hit? That is a theory that does not bear out.

It is indeed good news if the virus has subsided in our country. That does not mean it has disappeared forever. These viruses do not usually disappear like magic.

We have probably been fortunate that it has not been worse. The American people deserve all the credit. While the experts were saying 'wear your masks", the leader of our country, and many of his supporters, were saying they were not going to wear a mask. When the scientists were saying that this was a very contagious virus, the leader and some in his administration were saying that it was all "contained".

We should not minimize the number of people that have died in this crisis. Let us all hope and/or pray that we have escaped the first attack and that we will be more ready, if another attack comes in a second wave? This is a time for competent leadership.
