I think we can look forward to an increase in talk about a new secession movement, especially in the Deep South amongst other nonsense.
Most likely, yes, there will be a GOP civil war between the moderate pragmatists and the fanatics in the base, who will insist that the reason for (an assumed) loss was that they simply weren't "conservative enough"; that's their default position for losing elections, supplemented by BS such as "vote fraud", etc.
I think they'll be in despair, provided President Obama is indeed re-elected, for several weeks, perhaps a couple of months, then the GOP civil war will intensify, and the hard right will either completely succeed in taking over the GOP, or go on their own way to start a third-party movement. That I can't forecast as to when and how it will happen, but it would seem to be a logical outcome of a Romney defeat.
