Why don't Republicans understand the First Amendment?

The First Amendment states that the Government shall not abridge free speech. Twitter, or any private enterprise, is free to disallow certain speech or highlight the lies of certain speech if it so chooses. That, incredibly enough, is THEIR free speech right.

And Twitter hasn't even taken down Trump's tweets -- they still get posted in all their glory -- so even in Republicans' ignorant misunderstanding of free speech principles, their argument doesn't work.
