It's something I've seen since the 60s, so I can't say I'm particularly surprised.

What I would sttongly caution is hanging a name on it. Apparently he was outed by his ex wife, so an investigation is sorely needed to figure out if it's him or another member of law enforcement.

One giveaway is the official OR grade respirator. Those are not going to civilians or even most front line health care workers, who are lucky to get N-95 masks they have to reuse for a week.
