(604 posts)is if there is massive fraudulent vote rigging on the Diebold etc. voting machines.
Diebold is now owned by a company in Spain.
But I have no further details.
It would be interesting to find out the ownership details of this Spanish company.
This US election is going to be decided in Spain, not the US.
It costs $20 and a few mins to rig a Diebold machine.
Alternatively the data file from each machine can be altered after it is sent to the processing center.
There is no audit trail of votes cast.
A computer programmer with 6 months experience could do it (obviously more experienced people would be used).
Another method would be to supply a patch to each machine which supposedly fixes a software bug, but actually rigs the count. (Like you get software upgrades to fix bugs on Windows all the time.)
The US vote counting system is one of the easiest in the world to tamper with.
No paper trail.
The CEO of Diebold said in 2004 that he would deliver Ohio to Bush.
He did.
No one knows what the true vote count actually was.
It was close.
