We recently managed to get through to a mildly right-wing family member about not posting the confederate flag to aggravate the situation, mainly through a combination of acceptable contexts and sharing General Lee's words himself about not glorifying or aggrandizing the South after the war was over with monuments and what not. He apologized the next day and admitted he hadn't known, and got a lot of people telling him we were proud for him being able to do that.

Growth is possible, keep hopin' people.
