He was the GOP guy who wasn't bat shit crazy and they believed with all their antics in Congress, they could win....and still lost. Even Karl Rove refused to believe he lost for awhile.

Romney is their Senatorial savior to get the moderates back into the fold in time. The base is shrinking due to one simple reason...death. Eventually they will reach a critical moment to move with the country...or...die as a party. Thinking its more likely former.
