People with borderline personality disorder have difficulty with permanence and object relations. They are characterized by unstable relationships and an incomplete sense of self. They don't follow anyone because they are usually trying to find someone to "love" them. Their unstable sense of self, makes it difficult for them for form attachments. People with BPD can love you one minute and then think you are the worst person ever, the next.

Trump supporters are typically people who are so driven by grievance, racism, sexism, and their own self pity that they will follow a man who has utter contempt for them, but who promises to hurt people they perceive as the enemy. I would not label them as having a specific psychological condition, though they do appear to be very damaged.
