I remember Pat Robertson divorcing his first wife a few years back when she fell fully into dementia. His claim was that she could no longer provide spousal services, so that made him breaking his marital vow to her ok. A former Punk Rocker, when faced with the same decision said that his wife was his wife, end of story. There have been men and women who have killed their spouse and themselves when the spouse was lost to dementia, because those people saw no life without that spouse a part of it. I don't approve of murder or suicide, but the devotion of people that did that was infinitely greater than that Robertson showed his first wife.
