2. Reminds me of being taught by the nuns in elementary school

The basic message: Men were beasts who couldn't control themselves. 'Good' women had no interest in sex, but in the context of a loving Catholic marriage they could find the experience tolerable, perhaps even somewhat gratifying.

I didn't get over that toxic teaching until I had a few young women in college 'teach' me that they liked sex every bit as much as I did.
