being warned about wearing clothes that might give boys the "wrong idea". People wanted to know what a rape victim was wearing or what did she do to drive a man to act that way. If a girl got pregnant she either got married quickly or was branded as being "that kind of girl".

Girls were taught that they were responsible for their own sexuality as well as the conduct of the boys/men with whom they came in contact.
