Texans will turn on the protestors. They'll want a crackdown so elements they associate as part of our national heritage isn't vandalized and destroyed.

My husband has been very supportive of protesters. But he was seriously turned off by the destruction of statues of Francis Scott Key and others. It's one thing to remove Confederate statues. It's quite another to destroy statues associated with American history.

I did not know before today about Francis Scott Key's racist lyrics and that he was a slave owner. I believe that the full story should be displayed there. Or perhaps it should be moved in an orderly way to a museum.

Most figures in history had baggage. Nevertheless it doesn't negate accomplishments, although it certainly stains their character.
